Sewing a zip on to a jacket

Its been a minute since I posted.

Just bought some new gear, motodry pants and jacket. The jacket doesnt have a zip , though the pants do.
Is sewing a zip on something I can do with the bernina at home or needs to visit someone.

Currently its riding up and creating a sort of tank top jacket which isnt ideal

    Nope
You’ll need a walking foot sewing machine, which is an industrial one.

Depends on how fussy you are. I sewed a short pants connection zip on a jacket by hand using one of these, I think I bought one from Amazon back in the day when buying stuff online was much cheaper.

It's possible to recreate the same stitch with needle and thread once you see how it works. Zip has been solidly attached for years.

On this topic, how does one work out where to sew the zip ?

Does anyone know the process and turn around time for MSW to do a zip onto a textile jacket?

Trial and error was how I did it, using pins to locate it temporarily and then trying it on until it felt right.
