Sugilites Grumpy Last Ever Classic Motorcycle Event At Pukekohe Meagre Photo Spread

So, I attended the last ever Classic Race event at Puke for a couple of hours. I'm a shit spectator, got hot n grumpy wandering around in my leathers. I took a good camera, but was hard to get clear photos with no others in it. I just wanted to race - meh. Left early and went for a consolation ride in the wops, so that was nice. So sorry you only get 8 photos, and 2 of those were taken on a meh phone camera - oh well

    Mmmmmm Slabby

    A Britten - of course

Fuck me, this sidecar lark looks exciting.

Mmmmmm 2 stroke I had a 400 version of one of these

Mmmmmmm another 2 stroke I had one of these, the rare long pipe model. This one is the rare RZV, alloy frame jobbie. It only came out in the Japanese and Canadian markets I believe.

    And that's it

Cheers guys. If I had stayed any longer, the officials would have found a portaloo locked from the outside, and one of those 2 strokes doing laps with a different rider than what had entered it

Love the Ducati wheels and brakes on the RZ500... Actually might be FZR wheels which the Brembo discs and FZR calipers?

Yes very nicely presented, I stole your pic and sent it to him

That was their first and last meeting there, didn't go that great as they dnf both races on Sunday, one mechanical and one the passengers visor came off

Meh. what shit luck. especially after traveling all that way. Racing can be such a hard mistress.

The actual photo was not my best work, the camera is set up with a 100mm macro lens to photograph crystals. so has a super shallow depth of field. Though the sponsor Canterbury Hydraulics will be stoked, as that was the only part of the photo in actual focus

If for any unexpected reason they want the original raw image, let me know and I'll forward it when I get back From Aussie.

If any racetrack had to go, I would choose puke. I never much cared for that place. Call me quirky, but I really enjoyed racing at levels.

Same, I thought it was a shit hole when I went there in 1988 to spectate, racing there 12-14 years later did nothing to change that opinion

Levels I always liked on the Bucket and Pre82 , not so much on the Sidecar

I had three days with an entire grandstand to myself, some great racing all weekend long too. Four nights turning beer into urine is something I haven't done for a few decades and was pretty damn good fun

Yep, i fully acknowledge i would of been one of the few grumpy ones there. When I get back from Colombia, I'll be into resurrect kx500 mode. I recently moved within one kilometer of the Ardmore motocross track. So ill be much chirpier getting some low key racing in.
