    Cheap exhaust off TradeMe?

Hi all, anyone had any experience with this:

Is this viable? Would install be difficult? It probably will rust or fall apart after a year or two but for the price, I'm not worried.

I've always had loud bikes and prefer them, so am looking to either modify the stock can or replace it.

It looks identical to the one I bought directly from AliExpress for my Duke 790 (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001...archweb201603_). I wasn't interested from the performance angle, just to get rid of the heavy and relatively ugly OEM muffler. The link pipe and muffler fitted perfectly. With the removable DB killer in, noise is about the same as the OEM muffler which is fine. You can see some photos here: https://geoffjames.blogspot.com/2020...ng-sorted.html . I have no idea whether you need a link pipe for your bike but if you search AliExpress you should get a good idea. You can also look at the carbon and non-carbon options.

I've had mine on for a few months and am quite happy with it. Looks to be quite well made.

Quality will vary, and buying from ali you'll avoid the markup (but potentially wait longer). Reports are mixed, some like Geoff say Ok, others, first start has blown the exhaust apart, or the end off.

Oh my stars and garters! That must have been spectacular... and shocking!

Thanks both for the advice. I may go ahead and get the cheapie. Not much to lose if it disappoints but if it is even average or above in quality and louder than the stock, I'm happy enough.

Hey Caseye. Been chilling since being let go at work last year.

Looking around, applying a ton but not much luck. You know some about my former boss and how she was like, so you can guess what'd happened to me and two others (and others before us).

Let my old bike go for decent price and bought something older but for less (see my profile). How're you and Mrs Caseye? You still got the old 'coal burner'?

If you do buy it and it's the same design as mine, the dB killer is held in place with a single small Allen screw. It's possible for this to drop out whilst riding and lose the dB killer. I'd recommend a blob of Loctite on the screw which is what I did.

Not letting her go mate, da Coal Burner is going to be a family heirloom. Sad to hear what's happened at work, keep smiling me ol mate,, if I hear of anything I'll let you know.

I have about 4 of them across some of my race bikes because they have been so cheap - they can come in different lengths but packing is shit. Repack will be required soonish, but is only $20 and some rivets.
