Well I just bought a big bike so I no longer need my beloved SR.

Its been an awesome bike, be sad to see her go. I would dearly love to keep her as its been my first real bike, so theres a bit of an attachment to it but unfortunately I cant financially afford to have two bikes.

Has an interesting history with a genuine 21,000Km's on it (I got her at 16,000). The old chap who owned the bike for most of its life hardly rode it (it was a genuine Sunday rider for him) so it sat in his garage under cover for the majority of the time.

If you wish to know the FULL history, im happy to share. Its rather interesting (at least I thought so :-). Has only had 3 real owners of which im one.

Minor issues:

1) The forks have some slight "pitting" on them and the crank case also has some "pitting". Apparently you can remove it with wet and dry sand paper & CRC (along with some elbow grease). This is pretty typical of a bike that

2) About 1,000Km's ago the chain dropped off (at very low speed, thankfully) and forced itself up through the side of the crank case. Its only cosmetic damage, nothing major at all. A close inspection quickly revels this, that and the fact I ride everyday to work plus weekend cruising around so its obviously only cosmetic.

Points to note:

1) Just had a brand new set of sprockets (front and rear) and a brand new chain fitted.

2) The rear tyre is quite new, at a guess 90% tread usage left (nice meaty tyre) good for at least 10 to 15,000Km's.

3) Front tyre will need replacing in the next 6 months to be safe but still pretty good. Id say its 40% tread left (depending on milage)

4) Tank has a very small dent in it (hardly noticable). Happened in the garage of the previous owner when his 8 year old girl knocked the bike over at a stand still while ferriting around in the shed.

5) I have all original paperwork, including the original ownership papers, owners manual etc.

6) There was a dispute over its age (87 or 88) but I have had it confirmed by the LTSA that it is indeed an 88.

So if your looking for a realible cheap to run cruiser for work/play or both then these are really hard to beat. They are also better than a GN250. Apparently they last longer than the GN motor wise, a better build quality.....anyway....

As you can see from the pics, the bike is in amazingly mint condition considering its age.

However the pictures dont show the pitting so well. Its not really bad just not all shiney like a brand new bike (but hey, it is 19 years old).

But you can see the paint and the general condition of the bike is really good.
If you want more pics ill try borrow a friends camera again.

Cant think of anything else at the mo. If you have any questions fire away.

This last picture was a ride some friends and I went on over the weekend (looking at their bikes you can see why I bought a bigger one :-p)
