Well if you've actually got a license then you're gonna have to start riding at some point, so why not do it yourself?

Just make sure to take it easy, and try to stay off the highways if at all possible.

Just jump in there and ride it home!

Not game to ride across Auckland, yet you've bought a race replica? Hmm.

glanzav
20th February 2006, 13:26
it's not that easy. i don't have any gear to ride a bike at the moment.sold every thing with the bike i had before.
cheers

glanzav

i don't think it's a replica cuz the seller told me it's a genuine cbr250rr.

Well, you're going to need gear to ride it once you get it (and if you're not it seems a somewhat pointless purchase). So why not go get the gear, then go get the bike - and if you owned a bike before New Lynn to East Tamaki should be easy enough ?

If there is anyone else in the middle of Auckland (i.e. downtown?) it can be done.

You pick it up and ride it, I'll follow, and you pillion home on the RF? - Or the other way round (i.e. I ride the 250).

PM me if my help's wanted. I won;t be watching this thread.. so might miss any response.

Glanzav - to confirm - this has a WOF and reg right?
An alternate thought... I can pick it up and bring it to work where you can retireve it at your leisure - Sat morning when traffic is light?

thinking about it... its the right time to start learning by riding home...

I assume you have done your basic handling skills? you just need to find a time of the day when the roads are NOT busy and get a group of us to doodle as wingman behind while u ride home :)

how old are you Steve and have u been driving (e.g Car license) before?

If you keep the bike under 8,000 rpm, it won't come anywhere near to flying out from under you. In fact I bet you'll stall it the first 3 times you try to move off (I did it more than that and another mate who had been riding for over 7 years did even worse!). Its a good bike, just remember it can turn quite quickly. But if you still keen for some dodgy arse guy (or girl!) off the KB forum to ride your bike home for you, by all means let them. I haven't meet any that I wouldn't let my bike near (maybe apart from that CBR250 hater SD).

Crazy Steve might do it - he's not a racer

racer or not most people aren't going to thrash your bike but a racer (in theory) will have more skills to mke sure your bike gets home safely, and two smoker is ment to be a pretty good racer. Also the RR on your bike means race replica ixion wasnt saying you bike is a fake its a race replica

glanzav
20th February 2006, 23:29
oh:Oops: so RR means Race Replica...i am new so didn't know. i thought it's a limited edition of cbr250. and diffrent in performance wise than normal cbr250. so at the end it's all the same.anyway thanks for the information.
